History

     In 1994, two pre-existing churches (Shadeland Ave Christian and Emmanuel Baptist) joined together realizing that to make a real difference in the Greater Pittsburgh Area would require a since of unity.  These two churches formed Emmanuel Christian Church.  This "new" church would look different from other churches because it would become a place where people could comfortably find a God who loves them.

Philosophy

Everyone is Welcome
     The first thing you notice when you walk through the "back door" of Emmanuel is that there are a lot of people just like you.  While some of us have been around the full ten years, a majority of us haven't, so basically we're all new.  There are people of different ages, different interests, different lifestyles and different dreams.  Whether you come from a Catholic background, a denominational background, a non-denominational background or no church background, there is room for you and you are welcome to become a part of the Emmanuel Family.

Something for Everyone
    Emmanuel isn't just for people who grew up in the church.  We are actually here for just the opposite reason, we exist because we know that thousands of our friends and neighbors all over the Greater Pittsburgh Area are on a spiritual quest.  They are looking for spiritual truth.  So we exist to draw them closer to the truth of God, His Son Jesus Christ. 

    We strive to make sure our services are never boring or irrelevant to real life.  And we offer each person a real opportunity to get involved in the life of the church, our ministries.  Emmanuel may look just like any church from the outside, but on the inside you will find a spiritual haven designed to show you the love of God.
